This 2024 starts in a big way with many interesting news in the world of smartphones. One of the most popular launches has been that of Honor Margic6 Lite, a mid-range mobile phone with a curved screen and other interesting features.
What this new mobile phone offers us is a general improvement of all the aspects already present in its predecessor model, the Honor Magic5 Lite, without this being reflected in a too high price increase. And this smartphone has gone on sale for only 399 euros. A price that, in view of what we analyze in the following paragraphs, is quite tight.
Let's see then what are the main characteristics of this light and thin (it only weighs 185 grams and is 7,98 mm thick), which is nominated to be one of the most outstanding models of this year that has just begun:
Ultra-cushioned anti-drop screen
In terms of size, the screen of the Honor Magic6 Lite is practically the same as that of the previous model, just a little larger and with curved edges. However, Its features are clearly superior. Among them we must mention a considerable jump in brightness (going from 800 to 1.200 nits) and a resolution of 2.652 x 1.200 pixels.
As in most current mobile phones, the Magic6 Lite's screen options include change panel tint depending on ambient light. It is also a screen drop resistant, since it is equipped with cushioning technology Honor Ultra Bounce with 5 star certificate from SGS. The manufacturer assures that this design is capable of withstanding drops from 1,5 meters from any angle.
It is also worth highlighting the systems eye protection that incorporates this screen. Especially pulse width modulation (PWM) dimming at 1.920 Hz. Thanks to it, flickering and brightness fluctuations are reduced, thus minimizing visual fatigue. Other systems that take care of our eyesight and our health are low blue light, dynamic dimming y circadian nighttime viewing. Important, if we are going to make regular use of the mobile phone.
Long duration battery
The low-consumption 4-nanometer processor, which we will talk about later, makes the Honor Magic6 Lite's battery life longer. The data, according to the manufacturer, are these: 5.300 mAh battery which allows up to 17 hours of video playback, 11 hours of gaming or 20 hours of surfing the Internet.
It must also be said that this is an ultra-thin battery that has the DXOMARK gold label with a 3-year anti-aging guarantee. Another important detail is that, always according to Honor, the battery can maintain up to 80% of its capacity after 1.000 charge cycles.
To consider: the charger is not included. In its place is a 3-amp USB-A/USB-C cable that allows for 35W maximum charging.
Performance and other details
Where there is a notable jump between the Magic5 and the Magic6 is in the processor. The latter incorporates a chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen1, which brings with it an increase in GPU performance of up to 35% and an improvement in CPU efficiency of 40%. Everything added together is the guarantee of great performance and very fluid operation.
The Honor Magic6 Lite has 256 GB internal storage and 8 GB RAM, which also represents a notable advance over the Magic5, which only offered 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
El camera game of this Honor Magic6 Lite is exactly the same as the previous model: a 16 MP front camera and three rear cameras: the main 108 MP with a motion capture engine and equipped with a 3x lossless zoom, as well as a wide angle 5 MP and a 2MP Macro.
Finally, it should be noted that this smartphone comes with the MagicOS 7.2 operating system built-in, although it only supports Android 13. Hopefully in future versions we will see it adapt to the latest version, Android 14.
