Motorola is entering the competition with brands that want to integrate new AI technologies into their new devices. Their bet, whose design is inspired by the aesthetics of Formula 1 cars, is this: the Moto X50 Ultra, Motorola's first smartphone with artificial intelligence.
The announcement of the launch of this model, which will most likely be this April, has been leaked through the social network Weibo (also known as Chinese Twitter). The presentation video has also been published there, made with AI technology, as it could not be otherwise. Is this:
At the moment, it is nothing more than a rumor, but the fact that this video has been published on the social network of the Asian country with allusions to the next Chinese F1 Grand Prix It could be a clue to the official presentation date of this smartphone: April 21, 2024. In this sense, we must remember that Motorola's parent company, Lenovo, is one of the official sponsors of F1.
Technical characteristics of the Motorola Moto X50 Ultra
Although there is still no definitive data about the device, many of its specifications and technical characteristics have already been revealed. With what we know, it is possible to get a pretty good idea of what is coming. This is the provisional technical sheet of the Moto X50 Ultra:

In summary, it is worth highlighting two notable features. On one side, the size and quality of the screen, which is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Plus panel. On the other hand, special attention must be paid to the chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3, a powerful processor eight-core 3,3 GHz. It cannot be any other way: a processor like this is needed to reliably comply with all the AI functions implemented.
Something must also be said about the battery. Although its capacity is normal for a mobile phone in this segment, it has three charging options: quick de 135 W (a truly impressive and unusual figure), 15W wireless e 5W reverse.
As for the quadruple camera game Of this mobile phone, we must mention the front lens for making video calls and taking selfies, which can also make excellent 4K video recordings at 30 fps UHD. We know almost nothing about the design, only that, like other models of the brand, it will have a synthetic leather back panel.
And what about Artificial Intelligence? In principle, where the impact of this technology will be seen most will be in the four cameras that the phone incorporates. In this, Motorola follows in the footsteps of its competitors, although we will have to see how and how much this means for the final result. But AI functions will also be present in elements such as the voice assistant and some content creation tools that we hardly know anything about at the moment.
A mess of names
The name assigned to this latest Motorola model has created a bit of confusion among brand customers. And, in the previous range, there was no X40 Pro or Ultra. On the other hand, the Moto X40 landed on the market under this name to be renamed shortly after as Moto Edge 40 Pro (the change was justified by a series of small updates).
In the previous generation, the Moto X30 Pro also became the Moto Edge 30 Ultra. The thing is that in the entire Moto X series there has never been an Ultra variant. That's why The Motorola Moto X50 Ultra can be considered a unique mobile phone. At least, as far as nomenclature is concerned.
Thus, it is expected that the Edge 50 Pro will end up aligned with the Moto X50 instead of the X50 Ultra. It has already been anticipated that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will feature a 4500 mAh battery equipped with 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Price and Availability
If we still have little data to know what the Motorola Moto X50 Ultra will be like, even less is what we know about the sales price. However, experts have a figure around 550-600 euros in European countries.
It is hoped that all doubts will be cleared up on April 21, the date on which we will learn more details about this model that promises so much. Until then, the mystery remains.
