Using WhatsApp on multiple devices allows you to combine both tablets and smartphones . The multi-device mode offered by the popular communication platform is a significant leap forward, as it allows us to maintain settings, content, and real-time synchronization from the same official application.
Previously, connecting two devices required certain "tricks," which were not always well-received by the platform, so they decided to make significant changes to improve the app and please their users.
In previous versions, installing WhatsApp on a tablet required downloading an APK file, which was typically found in unofficial app stores, potentially leading to security vulnerabilities and a lack of updates. Currently, WhatsApp can be downloaded directly to any tablet from Google Play and enabled in companion mode.

Connecting another mobile device will depend on its type and model. For example, the method for connecting a tablet differs from that for a smartphone. Both are very simple , but quite different. Here's a step-by-step guide.
How to link your WhatsApp on a Tablet

We decided to start with this one, as it will surely look very similar to linking to the web or desktop version. It is important that you know that for tablets, the version that can be activated is the companion mode, basically linking your WhatsApp account on two devices. The steps to follow are those:
- Enter the official store, Google Play from your Android Tablet.
- Search, download and install WhatsApp.
- Run as normal. The app will open directly in companion mode. The reason is logical, it detects that we are connecting from a Tablet.
- With your mobile where you have linked the WhatsApp account, scan the QR code that will automatically appear on the screen.
- In a few moments, the Tablet will be synchronized with the mobile version of WhatsApp.
Remember that to scan from your mobile device, you need to open the " Linked Devices " option and then " Link Device ." This will activate your camera to capture the code. This procedure is the same as when linking the web or desktop version, so it will be very quick.

The steps to follow are:
- Download and install WhatsApp on your mobile. In case it is already installed, verify that you do not have another active session previously. If an account is active, for ease reasons, it is recommended to uninstall and reinstall.
- In the area where it tells you to enter your phone number, locate the three dots in the upper right corner and choose “Pair a device with your phone".
- A new screen will appear and it will give you the instructions to link this mobile to another one that is already working.
- Here, it will be the same process that we have done countless times, scanning a QR code, which will appear under the instructions on the computer where you are starting your WhatsApp.

- Click on the one you want to close session and the pop-up menu will indicate two options, the one that interests us in that opportunity is "Logout”. We press this slightly.
- Almost immediately, the active session on the device we have just chosen will close and disappear from the previously displayed list.
In case you want to pair the device again, you just have to repeat the previous procedures and use the QR code of the device to be used in companion mode.
